A. As stated in the installation instructions, you must set the computer screen resolution to 800x600 or higher before using Survivair Minder. To change the resolution on Windows 98 (Windows 95 is similar) go to the Windows desktop area and click on a blank area of the desktop with the right mouse button. A pop-up menu will appear. Select Properties from this menu using the left mouse button. Click on the Tab labeled Settings. Then move the slider control so that the Screen Area is set to 800x60 or higher. Then click OK at the bottom of the window. Q. My program is running as a DEMO version. A. This will happen the first time you load Survivair Minder on to your computer. To enable the full version you must enter a User Name and password. After this is done the information is stored on the computer and will not need to be re-entered. Your user name and password were shipped with the CD. You can also, send an email request to support@Survivairminder.com. Please include your program serial number, your name, address, date and place of purchase, and desired User Name with your email. The User Name must be greater than 10 characters and less than 41 characters. After you have received your User Name and Password, go to the File menu item and select Enable Full Version. You will see a screen with text boxes for the User Name and Password. Enter them exactly as they were given in the email from support@Survivairminder.com. The entries are case sensitive. To be sure you are copying the items correctly you can copy the User Name and Password from the email message then paste them into the text boxes in the program. The Copy and Paste commands are available by clicking the right mouse button while the desired text is selected. For further instructions click the Help button on the Enable Full Version screen. Q. How do I change my User Name? A. Email support@Survivairminder.com A. Yes. Data can be imported from one computer to another or the two can be simultaneously synchronized. The two computers must be connected via a network or direct connection, or the database of one muust be copied to a temporary folde ron another. The instructions ar in the Help file. Q. Can I run Survivair Minder on a network? A. Yes. Please remember that the End User License agreement entitles you to only one user of Survivair Minder per license. If other persons on the network will run the program at different workstations, additional copies of Survivair Minder must be purchased for each intended user. To run Survivair Minder on a Windows network the program must be installed on each workstation that will run the program using the program CD. This is because each computer will need to access DLLs needed to run the program. After the program is installed on the different networked computers, set the computers up so that the Survivair Minder.exe file on the one computer that is serving as host is called rather than the one on the local machine. This way all computers will share the same database located on that host machine. You may even want to delete the Survivair Minder.exe files from the local machines to avoid confusion. Q. How long will I receive free updates? A. As long as updates are made. There is no plan to charge for updates in the foreseeable future. Future major version changes may require us to send out CDs so that the program can be re-installed. We will ask for a small shipping and materials charge (shipping charge and cost of the CD blank) to offset the cost at that time. Web updates after that will still be free. Return to top.Q. How do I view PosiCheck test data in Survivair Minder? A. Survivair Minder does not store the PosiCheck data since it is already stored in the PosiCheck database. Survivair Minder can read that database and display the test results however. The Test window was designed for users who do not have a PosiCheck tester and are using the old "Blue Box" tester. The units that are imported from PosiCheck show up on the Test window table grid but no parameter values are shown because the PosiCheck tester does not use the same parameters as the "Blue Box". The PosiCheck results can be viewed by selecting the desired SCBA from the list, then clicking the "View ProCheck Graphs" button. You will be asked the location of the PosiCheck database since PosiCheck can use multiple database files. Select the proper file and the results will then be shown. Q. My program does not export to PosiCheck when I click Save at the SCBA Info window. A. You must name a default PosiCheck database file in the Default window of Survivair Minder. The Info Window will then export to PosiCheck every time the Save button is clicked Q. The View ProCheck Graphs button does not appear on the Test window. A. You must name a default PosiCheck database file in the Default window of Survivair Minder. The button will then appear the next time the Tests window is loaded. Q. I can't print reports from Survivair Minder when running PosiCheck software. This is a problem that PosiCheck software has with ANY Windows program. Since the PosiCheck machine captures the printer port to communicate with the tester, the printer is not available unless the PosiCheck software is unloaded. The PosiCheck software must also be run first, then quit so that a print redirection routine can be loaded into the computer memory. In short, it is a bit of a pain. This can be remedied by getting another printer port for your computer or using the USB port to drive the printer. USB printers are commonly available , as are USB to LPT converters.
